Human Resource Development in e-Business Firms : Fostering High-skilled Workforce While Adapting to Technological Changes

1. Introduction
Since the late 1990s, information technology (IT) and e-Business have become the central elements of value creation and economic growth with the rapid globalization of the digital economy. Especially e-Business, a new business model which combines the company’s business with IT, has tremendously facilitated a company’s growth by enhancing the efficiency of management processes and creating new sources of profits.
Although the term, ‘e-Business industry’, is not familiar yet, it is defined in this study as a cluster of companies that fosters e-Business in other firms(The definition is in Table 1). E-Business manpower is also defined as the employees doing e- Business and equipped with IT related knowledge, including e-Engineers, e-Managers, e-Business Strategic Managers, etc. This study concentrates on the education and training of e-Business workers who are employed in the e-Business industry...
